East Worthing & Shoreham Labour Party

Shoreham-by-Sea, photo by howsey (on Flickr)Our constituency of East Worthing & Shoreham hosts a sitting MP who has been elected on a minority vote. The majority voters, who most definitely would not wish a Tory representing them, split between Labour and the Liberal Democrats, are left contemplating Tim Loughton as MP. It's democracy but it's not pretty.

No matter. The grandeur of Westminster and the comfortable council chamber may come another day, along with an inflated sense of one's importance in the scheme of things. But for now, there's plenty of valuable work that we do for our fellow constituents, standing with individuals let down by the system, giving a voice to the groups and communities who are ignored. By our example, fighting for people not vested interests, we show why Labour is such a great and enduring party.
