Shopped by his young protege- who obviously sang like a canary when Sir Robert’s finest fingered his collar - Damien ‘The Fence’ Green adopted the ‘Robin Hood’ defense: No one’s above the law except when we think the law’s controlled by the other side, then we can do what we want and call it fighting for justice. Well, with nothing seemingly beneath him, even grooming, he can hardly claim to be above anything. Apologists for this ‘One Nation Tory’ (read: One Tory Nation, and clear off the rest of you) say it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. Nor, from his Commons hysterics, a more petulant one. I would have thought this lot would have learnt from the Reverend Aitkin’s ‘Simple Sword of Truth’ episode. Lock ‘em all in chokey, I say.
