The Tories have form. Fresh from their fracas with the constabulary for grooming a mole in the Home Office, and with the marks of the cuffs still fresh, Chris Grayling gives his nudge, nudge, wink, wink, off the record briefing on changes to the traditional Tory values and policies - that is to say, NONE.
The fact is, Grayling, like other leading Tories, says one thing but hints at being motivated by quite another.
As many, if not most, ‘grass roots’ Tories will admit, the ‘new’ , ‘compassionate’ conservatism touted by Cameron and his fellow travellers., is not at all in keeping with their own traditional values. They keep quiet for the sake of gaining power. Our very own Conservative candidate for St Mary’s Ward in Shoreham is none other than Mike Mendoza, radio celebrity, proud to be politically incorrect, condemned by Ofcom , the broadcasting watchdog, for saying gays are the same as paedophiles… One could go on. We will.
