Heaven knows, we have enough complaints about our ‘exclusively’ Tory Council. But it is the deeply undemocratic apathy we all have allowed to develop that is the real villain. How can just 12% of the electorate - it was only that many that voted-in the current Tory administration - possibly qualify as a ‘mandate’?
There are local authority elections in Adur and Worthing this May 1st! This is our chance for all parties to join the long fight to bring the democratic process back to the local community. Remember, we need good candidates and good systems: structures that will allow our electorate at a grass roots level to define their priorities and control their budgets.
