One Law for Laws……

Posted in News under Coalition | National | on May 29 2010

hyp · o · crite: a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.

It has been a nauseating sight, observing David Laws, the convert to Conservatism, eager to prove his faith, thrilling to the savagery to come, barely able to express his glee that the NHS must not expect anywhere near the funding it received under Margaret Thatcher!

Michael Caine is a national treasure, the hard man with the soft heart, but still an innocent in the world of Politics. If only, he thought before the Election, David Laws and Vince Cable were with David Cameron. We should all be careful what we wish for! It’s a lesson on what we do again and again - constructing our public figures out of our own dreams and desires, hanging our expectations on a hint of a pleasing personality. So we shouldn’t be shocked when the reality behind the avatar is shoddy, shabby and deeply unappealing.
It really is time to insist on the real deal - public servants with ALL the skills, the aptitude, the personality and the integrity, that the huge responsibility demands.
