Shoreham Academy

Posted in News under Emily's Events | on Mar 20 2010

It was a pleasure visiting the Shoreham Academy on Friday morning for a very rewarding question and answer session. Hazel Thorpe for the Lib Dems was there, too. She’d taught at the school for 25 years, so you might think she had a head start! But there again, I’m only a couple of years older than the students, so when we talked about education and scraping along on a grant that doesn’t even cover the cost of accommodation, they knew I was telling them how it is! Hazel and I came at the questions from different angles, but it was striking how much common ground exists between the parties of the Democratic Left. Also commented on was the complacency and arrogance of the Tories, who didn’t bother even to send a representative.
