It’s been a roller-coaster ride, so what better place than the Bank Holiday Fair on Lancing Green to roll up the campaign. Not that we won’t knock those doors until the last syllable of recorded time, in the never ending fight against the fear and conservatism that hobbles our society. Thanks to everyone, and there’s many so many of you old, young and very young, who’ve wished us well and helped us along the way, and an especially huge thanks to that generation who remember what it was like without the Welfare State, without the Health Service or Free Education, who remember the slums, the houses without sanitation, who fought and defeated the Nazi horror, and returned to fight for social justice and a fairer world, and elected a Labour Government which changed history.
